My Dad's Saab 900 convertible got nicked from his house just over 2 weeks ago ;(
Good news is that my missus spotted it today, parked up just a couple of miles from where it was taken. Better still, it's still in excellent condition; no body damage (other than around the lock barrel), clean interior, etc. :) The ignition barrel appears fine, but I nothing happened when I turned the key. 'hot-wiring' it gets the engine turning over, but it's not starting. Biggest worry about the theft was the private plate, which wasn't insured. I think if a nicked car isn't recovered, you loose the plate too, unless you take out insurance specifically for the plate. |
IIRC you have to wait so long (12 months?) or until they find it before you get the plate back, glad u found it, Tracker is worth while for the £300 it costs!

If the car is stolen and not recovered you have to wait 12 months before you can get the plate back with a special form.
Glad you got it back Thieving f*ckers. |
does he wanna sell it ? :D i want one

Thanks for the info guys :)
Not for sale lardypants. It's not worth much, as it's an old one, 93 I think, but when the sun's out it's great. |
Is it yellow?

@lardypants... I have a mate with a V (or X, can't remember) reg 900 cabrio up for sale. It's the bright blue hot one. Viggen? Aero? Carlsson? Don't know my Saabs that well but it's the 200+ bhp version. Mail me if you'd like to be put in touch.

It's not unusual for stolen cars to be left in quiet laybys for a few days after they are stolen. It's a simple way to check if they have tracker. If it's not recovered after a few days, you can assume it didn't have tracker.
Glad the car wasn't damaged too much. Mojo [Edited by Mojo - 20/03/2003 11:13:59] |
