What would be the 'best' time of day for a dyno run to ensure the appropriate mapping to avoid boost surge, knocking and other nasty engine destroying stuff?
Current max temperature here is 32C, with the mornings being a chilly 18C(!). The summer temps here regularly exceed 50C, and the 'coldest' winter temp is about 10C. I am aware of the impact cold, dense air has on the performance of a turbo engine, but should I be concerned about heat (i.e dyno at midday) or the boost spike of 'cold' air (i.e dyno at 05:00 and upset the neighbours!) For reference the mods are (planned, ordered and shipping soon!) APS 'CS' spec kit (3" turbo back exhaust, dump valve, cold air intake, turbo exhaust manifold, Unichip) along with the APS FMIC (strangely - given the conditions!) and I/C water spray |
