I want to colour code some parts on my 97, shouldn't be too hard you'd think...
I ordered up some paint (64c met. green) from my local Halfords, a light coat looks fine but a couple of layers later and it's just too dark, way too dark. Took it back and got some more mixed but it's wrong too  Now I've got some on order from Holts (Halfords paint makers) to see if that's any different. I'm wondering if the Halfords computer has got it down wrong, anyone had a correct colour match on 64c? |
Neno,
there is two shades of 64c,i went to halfords and got the one you might have, went back and found out there is another shade which is lighter. i have the code for it, i'll post later it might help. cheers greg |
 thanks Greg :D I don't suppose you know the code for the wrong one too by any chance?
|
That's strange cos I've had 64c from two different branches of halfords and it's a good match for the rest of the car? To be honest I've only done the front lip spoiler and not a door or anything where the difference would be obvious.
Steve :D |
I have 64C can from Dunstable Halfords - the match was total crap on my MY99 - it was way too dark. T |
Neno
here is the code 687178 the other code could be 687168 but not to sure . this might help. cheers greg |
Brilliant, thanks Greg.
I'll get in there this week and see what the score is... |
Just thought I'd give you an update on this...
I got Holts to make up a can, a little test and it looked exactly the same, so Halfords refunded me for the original two cans I bought. They were reluctant to refund though as they have introduced a policy that they can't refund a mixed can. Back to square one. Anyone know anywhere else to try? ;) |
Oh forgot to add that the code is simply for a can of spray not the colour - or so I was told. :(
