OK guys, it's coming up to the 3rd Friday of the month again, so time for the Kent meet, as above

Venue - this time it alternates back to "The Wharf" pub at Crossways near Bluewater (as I think most people agreed last time at Maidstone). I'll sort a map shortly.

Start time about 7:30? I'll probably be late due to work, but I'm sure you can cope without me for half an hour ;) Probably not my turn to organise the meet, but somebody has to do it!

If any of the newer recruits want to email me (as per profile), I'll add them to the meeting mailing list.

hades 13 March 2003 08:39 PM

Map as promised here

pele 13 March 2003 09:04 PM

We will be there, I was going to give it until tomorrow, then I was going to post :p
I thought Hol might have organised this one as he has had a nice long break ;)
I am in sunny Blackpool at the moment, using a very slow computer! I haven't seen many other scoobs though, 276 miles and only 3 scoobies and those were in the last 50 or so miles :D
Jake puked all the way, so my car smells wonderful at the moment, we are trying to make it smell a bit better for Friday ot I will have to park over the other side of the car park!!:(

Arron 14 March 2003 08:10 AM

Should be ok for this one.

Arron.

Hol 14 March 2003 08:19 AM

Hey, ive enjoyed my sabbatical break :)

To be honest, Im still looking for the 'ideal venue' that we can use every month. Its amazingly hard as i want a pub that we can see the cars from the inside, that also has a beer garden for the summer evenings.

On the face of it, that sounds easy, but every time I think Ive got a good one, I drive past on a friday and see a full car park. kinda defeats the object.

I think that the best bet we have is for everyone who attends to nominate a pub that fits the (fussy) criteria (or is it Fuzzy?) and for us to try each one in turn.
Sooner or later someone will come up with a gem.

Talking of the summer, who fancies a Saturday or Sunday down at Camber sands? Beach games and BBQ etc...

paul-s 14 March 2003 08:36 AM

bonsoir....

ill be there on the 21st ppl.

see ya then.

Sounds good to me :)

All things being equal, I'll be there.

Hol,
What's this, a 'scooby soul weekender' :D

Mark

pele 14 March 2003 10:21 PM

Hades - guys & girls please! :p
Hol - Camber Sands sounds like a good idea, weather permitting! We would definately be up for that (as long as it's not windy, Camber Sands & windy weather do not mix!) :D

Cupraman 15 March 2003 11:16 AM

Well if I get my hands on the car as promised on Thursday I will be comming along with the wife and Kiddy :D

TIMMO 15 March 2003 06:52 PM

I will be working around the Swanley area on Friday afternoon and would love to join in with the Kent meet?!

Dan MY00 P1 :D

Markus 15 March 2003 08:26 PM

Oi! you lot! Thought I would mention I'm running the other kent meet on Sunday 23rd March, mainly as it'll be the last meet I can run for the forseeable future as I'll be in Canada. If any of you fancy coming down, feel free. It's just leaving drinkies for me, but it's still kind of a meet :D

hades 16 March 2003 02:02 PM

Timmo - all are welcome, even "foreigners"! Always nice to see a few new faces too.
Pele - I meant "guys" as a generic term for people - you're not wanting me to start going all PC now are you? :p
Markus - would love to come to your thing but think I will be out on a stag weekend (not mine I hasten to add!)
Camber sands sounds OK, obviously depending on date. Will make a nice change of scene for me as I'm working lots at Dungeness at the moment

RB5108 16 March 2003 04:29 PM

I think I can make both of these, need to put some miles on me new engine. I'll see if I can bring a few from the sussex meet.

pele 16 March 2003 10:21 PM

Hades - OK I forgive you :)
We are now back in sunny Gravesend, I had a nice suprise waiting for me - 3 points & a £60 fine! I was a bit disapointed to find out I'd only been doing 10mph over the speed limit, I think I must have been braking at the time! I now have to try & get them to send me the photo, as the camera I think it might be didn't flash, and it does say on the form that there is photographic evidence!, it will be a nice picture to put in my car albumn :D
Looking forward to meeting you all again on Friday - I might have a new mod - Radar Detector!
Oh, and I forgot

**Completed!**
Though we have yet to confirm there are flames, but the way a guy who was sitting on my bumper on the way home this evening swerved over the motorway when the beast backfired, I think I could safely say that she does indeed spit flames :D :D

Hol 17 March 2003 09:21 AM

Markus,

What time Sunday?

Seems a good excuse not to re-lay my patio :D

RobP 17 March 2003 07:03 PM

If its okay we will try to pop along Friday as we are moving to Bean in a few weeks and it would be good to meet our soon to be neighboring scoobs :)

Not sure what time we will get there due to work etc.

pele 17 March 2003 09:58 PM

RobP - of course it's OK, all are welcome, the more the merrier. :D

CTRnutter 18 March 2003 08:20 AM

Just thought I'd say hi,

will probably pop along, nice to try and put names to faces, so if you see somone looking completely lost you'll no its me and my bro,

pele 18 March 2003 12:53 PM

Can you believe it, I just got another sodding NIP! beware everyone of the roadworks between J4&5 on M25, there must be specs cameras there, which I unfortunately didn't see :( I will now have had 6 points in under a week after having a clean licence for over 6 years! I have just ordered radar detector & bits which should be here Thursday, bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted though ;)

hades 18 March 2003 06:58 PM

You must be more observant than me, cos I don't even remember seeing roadworks between J4&J5! Assume they're recent? Thanks for the warning as I'm going through there tomorrow.

You could claim the car was driving itself, as the camera won't be able to see your head over the steering wheel. ;) :D

Hol 18 March 2003 07:43 PM

Well, I accosted a P1 driver I see every morning today :D, so theres another one for Fridays meet ;)

Pele, that is harsh to get two so close together. Let me know your findings regarding radar detectors as I think Ill join you. Ive seen some SH Geodesy's for sale, but never bothered.

pele 18 March 2003 09:18 PM

Hades - you know what the M25 is like, you see signs for roadworks and there's nothing there, I can't actually remember seeing any there, but thats what it says on the notice, so I guess there must be, mind you, I was more concerned with aviding projectile vomit from Jake at the time to be noticing roadworks, cameras or what speed I was doing at the time! :D
Ha! Ha! very funny, mind you, you are not the only person to have mentioned that the car looks as if there is no driver :p
Hol, this is what I have brought snooper I have brought 2 laser jammers though, for all round protection, they ain't going to get me again if I can help it! They are prepared to do a deal if you ask nicely :D I got a VERY good deal indeed ;)

Rich TurboUK 19 March 2003 11:45 AM

Hi,
As a newbie from Madstone, I would love to come too.
Count me in please.

Cheers, Rich :)

Hol 19 March 2003 12:19 PM

Rich,

I will be arranging a meet-up at 7.45 in Bluebell hill village. We can then convoy our way down. (slowly as not to get Gatso'ed).

Pele, I maight consider that!

Rich TurboUK 19 March 2003 12:25 PM

Hol,

Great, well up for that, let me know exactly where...

Rich.

CTRnutter 19 March 2003 03:06 PM

I only live up the road. :)

Mark

Hol 19 March 2003 09:06 PM

Rich,
Well meet up at the Upper Bell (Pub) end of the Bluebell village road at 7.45pm.

Come off into the village by getting in the inside lane and pulling off before the M2.

Anyone else want to meet up?

pele 19 March 2003 10:41 PM

CTRnutter, usually from about 7.45 onwards everyone starts turning up, we will get there about then - Red UK Turbo :D
