It has been annoying me for ages so I thought I would ask to see if they all do it:

When accelerating reasonably hard to almost full boost then changing gear there is a noise from the exhaust which can only be decribed like the car taking a breath through the exhaust.

It dosen't happen under light acceleration of severe acceleration.

What is it?

Ipski1,

This noise occurs during on boost gear changes anywhere around 3500-5000 rpm depending on how hard I am accelerating.

I am too kind to my Scoob to rev it to 7k rpm, max is usually about 5500-6000.

Did rip it to the cut out once but that's just not nice!

Are you sur eit not the recirc dump valve just blowing a little bit. I can here mine when hit high rpms esp. with the drivers window open.

Sounds like it's the dump valve you're hearing IMHO, but if it's something that's worrying you then check it on another scoob so you can put your mind at rest or visit your dealer. If it is the dump valve, they'll only patronise you slightly and if it isn't, well... You can say "told you it wasn't" to me, for one, 'cos that's what I guess it is...

its you, dont push it, why do you feel you need to thrash the car to 7k rpm, you'll make the big end go pop, chill a bit, go to 5n half maybe 6, much better, wont make as much funny nice and accelerate quicker when (ahem) puling away a bit quick.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :D

edited to say, i know you didnt state you was pushing to 7k, i just asumed. !! maybe 'DOH' sounds similar to what i used to do, if i am completley wrong, feel free to ignore me, at least i replied.
