Pilotman - I know the aerodrome (had introductory flying lessons there once) and remember that it is possible to park close to the aircraft - also knowing that it is not far from London.

Good place to take photos, might have to pay a visit there! Does the Capital Radio flying eye still take off from there?

Yes it does , I see it every morning when it takes off over the M1.

yep, i only live about 5 minutes from the airfield so its quite handy.

you can get very close to the planes / helicopters but i would go there on a saturday or sunday early morning and you can get some good photos.
