Fantastic place and a damn sight safer than london imho, also go to the garden :D Si |
All the tourist stuff, we did:
Times Square Statue of Liberty Wall Street etc... Rockerfeller Plaza Central Park Macy's & Bloomingdales > saw Linford Christie here! Empire State Building etc...etc.. Andy |
Oh yeah, forgot HOOTERS!

Get the helicopter ride its not cheap but its the best way to see new york, thats what my brother tells me anyway, not been myself :(
|
Certainly agree with Si
Liberty Helicopter tours are superb. Go for the longest tour which takes you over all five boroughs of New York. Fantastic. Nathan.. |
Haven't been to Hooters in NY, but went to it in Atlanta and they are in all fairness great!!!! Nice food as well ;)
Cheers Phill |
re: salaam bombay.

SPICE Thai restaurant - on University Drive just south of Union Square - excellent food and one of the cheapest places I ate in Manhattan.
The Statue of Liberty is closed (been closed since 9/11 - the yanks are so paranoid....) and I wouldn't recommend the 1 and a half hour wait to get through security just to go to the island when you can get a great view from the Statten Island ferry for nothing. If you like live music check out Greenwich Village on Saturday night, same goes for Comedy Clubs - loads of 'em - check out the free guides in most hotels - usualy better than 'Time Out' I'd agree the Helo trip is a must. South Street Seaport is pretty cool too, especially if the weather's good enough to sit outside and sip a beer.... |
Honestly mate you'll be having a good time as soon as you leave the airport. I did http://138.121.52.29/contrib/ruinkai/biggthumpup.gif

Got a work trip to New York coming up just wandering what are the best things to do and see, you know things like

Theirs a "Gentlemens Lounge" on 5th Ave and 47th which looks god. I just got back on Thursday with the wife so i didn't go in but it looks like a laugh.
Liberty Helecopter trip is great. We done the 15 minute tour and it cost £61 each. Theres a great Deli just up from the Roosevelt Hotel on Maddison Avenue called "The Metro" which is amazing. Also, go to Strawberry Fields in Central park. It's fecking cold there at the moment so wrap up warm. [Edited by Badger Stuffer - 3/12/2003 9:45:16 AM] |
