Yay, or nay?

Or does anyone have any alternatives?

I Have had a woodstock since they came out, great unit. Latter ones have a problem the bbc dab ensemble because the bbc moved the goal posts when they implemented bbc7. There is a software fix for this issue, units that were in stock at resellers have all been sent back to have the new software installed so getting one could prove tricky at the moment

What's the quality of the radio reception then? Can you give me an idiots' guide to DAB?

Also.... what aerial do you use with it? Should I get a glass mount? A roof mount? or a combi?

Mannyo or mannyo1 ;)

I've got a few questions re your woodstock and DAB.

do you have an email address, please? or could you email my profile?

Also - its in relation to the confirmation "beep" on the unit. I can be listening to a DAB broadcast, and every 40 seconds or so I hear the beep and the broadcast is interrupted for a split second.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Mannyo could you expand on the BBC breaking things. I have a small DAB radio that doesn't receive the BBC bouquet and I don't know if it's because it is not available or perhaps for other reasons. I have a DAPT DR201.

Regards
Pete

Kernel - see my post re: BBC problem.

BuRR: the confirmation beep is probably the warning beep that you have traffic information selected, but the channel you are listening does not provide it.

You can check this in the manual which is available for download ..

Well, what can I say. DAB reception is great, there is only one downside and thats the quality of sound. It seems that the broadcasters a going for quantity rather than quality and broadcasting at 128kbps for the most part to get more channels in. In a car though you dont really notice.

DAB needs a separate aerial input as the existing FM one won't do. What aerial to get really depends on the coverage in your area, if it's good then a well placed glass mount should be ok. Otherwise you have 2 choices, loose the FM and fit a proper DAB aerial or go down the more complex route and buy a combined dab/fm/am antenna.

Dont forget the blaupunkt can also play MP3 CD's and unlike other units can play MP3's stored on MMC and SD Memory cards by putting the card in a slot in the front.

Edit to add. If you live in the london area there is in excess of 30 stations covering all types of music for you to listen to.
