Help, I think I've lost the plot.
I have a nice 350BHP Scooby monster as my main car, but I have a 'commute' job now and I don't want to clock up 80miles a day in stop/start traffic. So I'm thinking of buying another car as a 'run around'. Something is attracting me to go diesel and a Ford Focus TDCI seems to fit the bill very nicely. Am I going to regret this? Is the Focus as good as people(the press) say? Anyone had any experiences of it? I can get a nice shiny new Ghia TDCI(115BHP) for £12K. Am I being just a little silly here? Help me Obi Wan, your my only hope!! |
Err..
Its a Focus...with a refined, easy-going diesel engine and adequate performance. That just about sums it up really ! Everything else is down to what you want ! (Having done Scoobs-diesels-Scoobs again and maybe a diesel soon) |
I'd recommend one to anyone, but then I'm biased, because I have one myself as a weekday utility car.
You can't go wrong with them, their such good value and very cheap to run. I have the Zetec which is the sporty version with firmer suspension, if your used to a Scooby I think you may find the Ghia to soft. The TDCI is definately the best engine (much better than either 1.6/1.8 petrol)it pulls like a train and with so much torque available is very flexible/fast on the motorway and will do 48-53mpg. Also the car is very practical and comfy inside (seat and wheel are both fully adjustable so you can get a nice driving position. Try and get the quick clear windscreen as it's great in winter. When I was buying I compared it to all the other hatchbacks, and like the press say it really is a winner. Having said all this mine is now up for sale as I'm moving onto something else. Details are: TDCI, 2002, 02, 15k, Zetec, climate pack, quick clear screen, metropolis blue, FSH, as new condition, well looked after. |
