Looking to get some bass in my scooby... Looking at either 2 x 12 or 2 x 10. There will be rear shelf sounds as well... all the in car sounds are focal....They are running off a Alpine 4x3x2 digital.

Any suggestions on what subs sound good in the scooby....

Check the JBL's for sale here on scoobynet. very good for the money

Depends what volume you want

As you've got the rear focals.. Which I had.. I'd put in 10's... otherwise the bass may overpower the front speaker noise... as the front focals are powerful but not that powerful.. I presume your running the front and rears at about 90w rms?..

Its all a matter of taste on Subs.. best I've heard is Diamond M10, or M12's or DLS.. Worst I've heard.. truly awful were JL Audio subs - totally pants.. each to their own though

I went for the rear fill so I could remove the subs, but when you've had subs the rear 6*9's are no substitute at all.. so I removed the focals and put in better quality front speakers, took the rear ones out and kept the subs... and I was back to where I had started.. much better sound quality.. but no good for rear passengers.. but then I never have any

BTW you'll also need to invest in a Farad Capacitor on the subs otherwise you'll get a fair bit of dimming problems on the lights..

The Focals will be in the front, rear and running of the Alpine AMP.. I will get Subs later.. But still think the 10s will be cool

12's for show, 10's for a pro ;)

Sharp punchy bass the 10's
Deeper toned bass the 12's

IMO

i used to have acouple of 10" cerwin vega's which where very punchy but also put a lot of 12" subs to shame in low bass also

expensive but worth every penny

I would agree with your comment, the best approach is actually 3*10inch subs.. which are better than 2*12 inch ones.. as they can give you the responsiveness and the volume...

They will look cool.. but take up a lot of room
re the Diamond/DLS and JL Audio - I should have said that these are the set ups I've heard in a Scoob....
