Before somebody ask, I removed the STi badges on the grill and the rear panel, same for the WRX impreza logos. The front pink/blue "6 stars" logo is home made.
As far as I know, the only diference with the type UK is that we don't get the driver's aluminium foot rest.

Assuming French spec is same as German, you wont have the CAT1 alarm and satellite tracking system! Not sure if UK spec has alu foot rest!?!

If you cover the rear lights in pic 2, the Scooby doesn't half look like an Evo!

That picture of the bonnet is great. Would make a marvellous PC wallpaper. :D

I guess F and D get same specs, I was not aware of the alarm and sat tracking system installed in UK.

My comment about the driver foot rest similar to pedals was based on an UK demo car picture posted here... might be wrong ?
I'll get the picture here, in case there's no UK STi8 owner around here ;)

So is there many WRX/STi's in France?

I've maybe only seen about 3 while driving in Germany (except for at meets and Rally) in the last year - not seen a single MY03 yet (even non-turbo) other than parked at the dealers!

There are not many GT´s let alone new 03´s around in these parts... Also due to the fact that many mainland europeans (germany especially) just do not know the car, and also have the money to get a locally built car - bmw, mercedes, porsche and VW spring very much to mind... With insurance costs being ridiculous (I can insure an M3 cheaper than the GT!) - why would people want the hassle...

Following on from Neals post the Germans are very much into brand names aswell and are very snobby, given the choice of a 280 ps impreza for 30k€ or a 180 ps Audi for 40k€ they would go for the Audi everytime because it is a status symbol to show to their neighbours. Sad and pathetic I know but there you go, anyway it just means there are more scoobies around for us real people :D:D:D

Not seen you round these parts for a while ;)
When do you get your GT then?
I looked into insuring the RB5 over here and it was cheaper to keep it on UK plates and pay extra for the green card than to insure here - I seem to remember at the time they wanted less to insure a 911 GT3 :eek:
I quite like the fact I'm all alone down here, it makes more people turn their heads :D There getting a bit too common in the UK now!

I´ve been away in Sweden with work for a few weeks, then last week I was in Austria for a snowboard camp. But for the time being I am here...

As for the GT, well long story, and I guess longer still till it is ready. Not sure really, but I get a new car next week - more as a between car than anything, and also to see what pans out...

To my knowledge, I got one of the very first delivered to France('bout 2 weeks ago). I never saw any other MY03 WRX on the road :(

One of my mates got a blue STi8 in Paris. A guy living close to me received his blue STi on the same trailer, but I never saw him from that time...

Anyway... if it's rare, it is beautiful ;) ;) ;)

Hi every one. You're all right about not seeing to many STi7/8 in Germany, and Wurzel, you're right on the money about the Germans going for the brand names. My brother in law bought an Audi and was so proud of the fact that his doors where heavy (he was swinging them back and forth to show me their great wheight.) Of course these same people have a complete look of disbelief when they try to race or prevent you from passing on the autobahn and you go by them without effort (those light doors!)

BMWhere, where are you about in the Constance area? I'm near Shaffhausen.

The first STi8 ever was in Paris anyway... for the motor show ;)

More seriously, we had some delivered in early January, but then most of us waited for about 3-4 weeks to get one... I think the first ones were dedicated to press and tv.
