My leccy windows (MY99) are soooo slow. They also seem to clatter and judder their way down into the door. I believe this is quite common, perhaps even standard!!!!

Anyone know how to fix 'em??? Its getting embarassing!!!

Thanks!

They seem fine on my MY99

I would not advise anyone to shut the doors when the window are not fully up as I'm sure that could screw them (judjing from the noise and vibration)

ANYONE ELSE???

Yes they are slow and noisy. Must be something to do with subaru using an electric toothbrush with a flat battery to power them - well that's what it sounds like. I would guess they need to be very low geared compared to normal windows due to the frameless door design where the seal presses very hard against the window. Why the make the grindy noise is probably to do with subaru penny pinching on the mechanisms. No problem closing the door with the window down - you'll find that the door only needs a very gentle touch to close it when the window is down. Slam it and things may make horrible noises and drop off.

If anyone has replaced their mechanisms with something more refined I'd be interested to know :-)

They are also very noisy and sluggish on my MY00 also. The drivers side is worse which suggests that it is at least partly down to wear. The motors are one thing but that switch gear really sucks - Poundland specials !

Andy.
