I've got both, as you well know from previous postings.

What's better? depends on what you want the car for?

The Honda is crap if you want to take 4 people out. The Corrado is crap if you want top down driving etc.

Personally I would never buy a VR6 as I think the engine does nto yield such a great output for the amount of weight it presents.

I also think it ruins the handling at the same time.

it is however a smooth cruiser with great handling and looks to match in my opinion.

It feels solid yet is light weight, but fuel consumption is abismal.

The S2000 is nearly always a joy to drive. The only thing I find annoying is the lack of cubby holes and glove box. The car handles beautifully and the engine despite being low on the torque front is always eager. Its also amazing just how high the revs will climb.

Surprisingly economical around town too!

On balance I would decide how important open top motoring is to you.

If it isnt the end of the world, I would probably go with the corrado and pocket the money, because the driving experience of both is still very pleasant.

Saying that, this weekend, in the nice weather, all I could think to do was to head for the garage and switch cars!

Yes, but it's a lot newer! Another reason why these cars aren't ripe for comparison.

The VR6 must have been a bit of a legend when it came out, near 200 BHP, where the Honda is 8 years newer. You cant compare them?!

If you have 18k to spend you might as well get an M3 convertable?!

it was more a case of low down torque and in gear flexibilty v high revving low flexibilty rather than a direct compareison between the 2 cars

Always tricky to evaluate a £4k v's a £17k car.

the S2000 is an my02 and bleongs to my dad. He has a bad foot and now cannot drive a manual, so I use it as my own. The corrado G60 was bought as an alternative to my 205 which I bought whilst waiting for the 22B to come back to life (soon :D).

I dont think of the vr6 as a torque monster, it handles well and is rugged, but doesnt provide that much space than the s200 to be honest. The back is rather cramped as the rear widown encoraches on headroom, It really is only a 2+2 depending on the size of your rear passengers.

Boot is acceptable if you put the seats down too.

torque is nothing to write home about. As I said, would rather have the advantages of the G60.

The corrado is a lot of car for the money, but then I think the S2000 is great value for what it gives you.

I think it is one of the best engines out there, making the car a joy to drive, but not so much in the rain.

Its actually a much closer call for me, especially if you are passioante about both cars which I am.

The corrado has more soul, the S2000 has a real basicness about it due to the cabin being very empty, but then it has a titanium gearnob, starter button and six speeds.

One things for sure, dont bother with the hardtop, it rattles like a bitch and makes the car more annoying to drive when you get just as much noise kiloing from having the soft top up.

I would go for the corrado, and if you want soft top thrills, buy an mx5 import for about 4k to tide you over for the few times it really is nice enough to use.

The mx5 is not in s2000 league but it has one of the most adjustable chassis of any rear wheel drive car ever! and you will still have 10k in your pocket!
