Bought my Supra at last! It's a non Turbo one, with some NOS on the way
|
Some NOS? Why didn't you just buy a Turbo then you wouldn't need NOS :D
|
wasnt you after a scooby? seen you in the for sale forum.
money spent on NOS could have got you something with a kit of kick anyway. Ray |
I don't need Nos, it's got 240bhp, but i just fancy going a bit Fast and the Furious!
Supras look far better than Imprezas, Sorry to say!!!!! |
Looks better..hmm that depends mate..some pretty tacky lookin supras out there and also some pretty stunning ones....post some pics and let the masses decide!
|
Thought the non-turbo's were 220bhp as std - is your's modded?
|
How much did you buy it for? You can get modded twin-turbos for 9k easy.
|
N/A Supras are circa. 225bhp.
I had one for 6 months, great to drive, a bitch to park (too big), impracticle but look good! I was paying £1250 insurance. I always wanted a Scoob and nearly spat my tea out when I found that a Scoob STi was £450 less to insure! Your Supra will cost about £48 to fill up with juice and return about 19-21 mpg! What size wheels/tyres has it got? BTW they are ace for 2nd-gear tail-out action around islands! Dead controllable. Thats what I miss.... Nick |
Lets see some pics :)

My Supra N/A M reg'd, HKS suspension, cream leather etc.. excellent drive, although unstable round bends with it being rwd. 100% Lady Magnet. Performance = scoob will dust it. n/a supras are 220bhp, but they are a size of a tank, to be honest the power comes in once your in 3rd, so saxo driver's you may have a chance!! |
I got rid of mine 4 moths ago, for 6300 pounds, which was a bargain!!
|
Whats the maintanance like on these beasts.....???? I do about 15K miles a year.
Gettin the itch for something quicker than my 328i and beastly lookin :) J |
100% reliable, the 3.0 n/a model has the same engine as the Lexus GS300. Interms of the servicing, well pretty straight forward, oil change after 3k, + oil filter, and thats about as far as the servicing goes.
When buying a supra check for the Tyres!!!, they could be a bit of a bill, and the sound of the engine. Usually they are very quiet engines. Normally you should only hear a light ticking noise on the top. |
i take it u've discovered http://www.mkivsupra.net/bbs/ good 4 supra info as i was/am tempted on these kum next insurance year but over 3" wider means no garage & scary rear end action ;) but mainly kuz 6speed manual UK supra turbos R proper rocking horse poo!!! :D OH & it's guna b STi type R time ;)

Unstable around corners due to RWD? Just keep your foot on the accelarator and it will go round fine! It'll just take a bit of getting used to, like moving from any one configuration to another!
|
Hmm i find that comment highly dubious without a huge amount of skill & a decent after market traction control system planting foot round a corner & being able to wheel spin in any gear u fancy is likely 2 end in tears although i guess it may be slightly easier with the non turbo variety but still that is a car that needs mucho respect!!! :D

i would say its totally controllable,if you can drive;)
|
