The BEST extreme fairground ride I've ever been on.

Sphere shaped cage with 2 seats, 4 point harness each and drop down bar.

2 extendable crane arms (box tpye) in a V shape, one each side of the cage. Bungees attached to top of crane arms and cage.

Strap punter in, stretch bungees then let the cage go. Arrrggggghhhhhhhhh 0-60 less than a second straight up http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
Launched way above height of crane arms, then.......freefall http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
Bounce up and down for a while (seemed like ages), then lowered to get out. Remained speechless for at least 10 minutes.

Awesome ride.

Cool http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif

Alton Towers are building a new ride for next year - basically a rollercoaster where you're strapped in lying down on your front, like superman, and off you go!!!

Joolz,

This was at the August fair in Malaga. Bit far to go just for a ride but was on holiday some 30mins away.

A couple exist in the uk, use the Internet and look up "reverse bungee" or "bungee ball"

I've seen this other thing.......too extreme for me.

You're hoisted up to 150ft in a cage with an instructor.
Floor is then lowered from main cage and you jump......no harness, no bungee, no parachute, no protection bar elbow and back protection pads........into a net suspended below. 90ft of uninterupted free-fall. Too much for me http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

Did the bungee ball in Florida - second biggest buzz I have experienced. The biggest was waiting for it to release when i went on it the second time. They had a small camera mounted right in fromt of your face, so you could buy the video afterwards.
Has anyone tried the one where you are attached to a wire cable and dropped from a platform about 200ft up. You basically free fall until you are about 20 feet from the ground when the cable release slows you rapidly to a stop 5 ft from the ground. This is not fun. You believe you are going to die. Most people where crying when they got off, yet the queue to get on was still about 2 hours. Why do people do this???
