Mods, please leave here for a while as I'm desperate!

Out in the car yesterday with my little boy (who is nearly 3) asleep in the back when he wakes up and without warning is sick absolutely everywhere! To make matters worse the wife then spills a near full bottle of mineral water all over the seat as well washing said sick all down the back of the seats, through the holes where the seatbelts are etc :rolleyes:

Now, my little lad is fine now and that's the main thing but the smell inside the car is ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE :eek:

Any Mums and Dads out there will know what I mean,
I drove to work this morning with all 4 windows down!

I've washed it out the best I can but it still smells pretty bad!

Can anybody out there recommend any good cleaning products that will help rid my scoob of that special kids cheesy sick smell!

The same thing happened to my old man with a work experience scrote in his Bimmer a while back. Hired a steam/carpet cleaner from the local dry cleaners and set to work with it. He removed the rear seats steamed them down and then did the same to the void where the rear seats had been. Basically youve got to give the car a complete a thorough clean out.

Otherwise buy a s**t load of "fabreeze" and spray it all over the area in question. Or if your not short of a few quid, employ a professional valeter/upholstery cleaner to do it for you. Some are mobile and can come to your place of work.

Our 3YO has pebbledashed the 22's interior on more than one occasion. To be honest it's a simple job to whip the seats out and thats the thing you have to do. Then just wash it away. I hate Febreeze..I'm more sensitive to the chemicals smell than the underlying odour usually...
You may want to go and pick up a few Pizza's and curries as well..get some good smells in there

Whhhhhoo Boy. My niece did this in my scoob a while back.
Tootling along some nice windy roads and she barked up a pint or so into her lap. I swiftly pulled to the kerb and anchored up but just too slow to get her out of the car before she re-enacted that head spinning vom-fest scene. We are talking VOLUME here...

Sad to say that despite extensive efforts to clean up - The car still reeked for about a month afterwards. Think it is okay now and not just me de-sensitised !!

I was so gald the back seats had been folded down in the wagon yesterday, as we had to go and pick the little one up from the grandparents (3 Yr old), We took the other halfs KA. Half way home she did the above and barfed all over the front seat and glove box area, the smell was so bad I nearly yacked up over the back seat.

It is amazing how sooo much sick can come out of such a small person? They must be storing it up for days..

Dreading the next time I have to go in the KA as I hate the smell of sick and it makes me reach, I will be adding to the smell I am sure.

Rear seats are dead easy to take out,so take it out and clean around the rear floor area with hot soapy water and a sponge.
Then use a carpetcleaner ie Vax,to clean the rear seats,job done.

Covering smells with smells never works...

wash it with BiCarbarbonate (spollong) of Soda

Yep "Bicarb of soda" worked for me too.

lots of water etc to rinse afterwards

buy a dozen ''magic trees'' (sorry don't know how they're called in the UK) and keep them in the car for 1 week. This smell will overcome anything

erm never take the lil` bugger out in it again!!!
my mate once broke a big bottle of baileys once on the back carpet, what woth it being summer the clotted smell was not good!!

Sell your car cheap and let somebody else have the hassle of getting rid of the smell !!

A navigator once chucked up in my mates rally car, in the door pocket luckily(?), so he whipped out the door card and pressure washed it with truck cleaner:eek:

Mark U (waxwizard) will sell you some nice banana smelling stuff I am sure - worked wonders on my back seat after daughter 'decorated' it on holiday - trouble is the vomit went into all the little perforations in the leather - rainy day job picking it out with a pin - hmmm ;-)

on the smelly front - I once transported a whole Long Clawson stilton for a couple of hundred miles - car smelled like a rugby club changing room for weeks - not good.

worst thing I have seen was car seat upon which some poor chap's wife gave birth - you do not want to know :-( replacement was needed

I can adda vote of confidence to Sodium Bicarbonate....works wonders a t knocking out most types of odours! :)

Both of my ankle snappers are sick and I have banned them from the car, they have the ****s. Dont know which is worse.

Try a local vets clinic. They sometimes do stuff that gets rid of animal smells (eg. urine) from carpet; which might work.

I had a similar problem when my cat p1ssed on the back seat of my Evo on the way to the vets!!! Tried all the regular stuff (including bi-carb) and NOTHING worked! Eventually found this stuff advertised on the internet from the US. You sprinkle the powder over the infected area and bob's your uncle in a couple of days smell is gone completely!!!

If it can get rid of the smell of cat urine then it can get rid of anything!!!

Our lad is now 3 weeks old but i went out and bought a thick travel blanket to put over the back seat, no good to you now but at least next time you will be able to just take a blanket out and wash it :)
