I have the chance of getting one of these (Little scooter with 25cc engine) anyone know legally about playing with it regarding
Licence needed Insurance Age to use as my mates two boys will want to try it Cheers Brian |
No tax, no licence required, no mot, no helmet, no insuranse required.
Saw an article about someone who hit a pedestrian and the person involved is taking a private prosecution against the rider, could cost them thousands. Apparently police are quite concerned about the use and sale of them as it is totally unrestricted and a real grey area. |
You'll get nicked unless you're very lucky. It's a motorised vehicle and as such you'll need a licence and insurance if you're going to us it on public roads.
I have a racing model that's seriously offensive - noise and television interference - and I've 'Gotten away with it' quite a few times. I also have an electric version that I've been stopped on a few times and let go. Petrol one comes out for special occations only now, Le Mans was it's last outing. Shame really as the latest models are quiet and energy efficient, great for beating the congestion charge. Check in here www.gopednation.com if you want to know more. |
Ross at Rockets Aprilia is a good guy, he imports them, he's also been prosecuted a few times for using them! I bought my mini moto off him, 01254 690835:)
