This topic will have details and pictures of my Subaru throughout the progress of modifying the car to a 2.5litre.

It has taken a lot longer than planned, but has been worth it. To be honest, if I was in the UK, it would have been finished earlier, but that is one of the problems I faced for living on such a beautiful island.

It all started back at the end of October 2001, I remember like it was yesterday.....

My car was running very well, having a..... actually lets go back even further to when I purchased the car.

Jan 1999

I did not like the idea of purchasing a car without knowing the history, so I decided I wanted to purchase a car privately. I had always like Impreza's and decided it was one of these I would like, but which one? After seeing a picture of a Type-R I knew that was what I wanted. I was only young at the time, 18 years old, and in my eyes, a 4-door is a family car, and I didn't want that!

Looking through private sales on the internet, I found a Silver Subaru Impreza WRX STI Version IV Type-R Coupe for sale, and fell in love.

I made some enquiries, and found it already had some modifcations done to it. These were a Monster Sport replacement panel filter and Monster Sport Muffler.

It also came with the STI Gauges already fitted, a blitz turbo timer and an impressive sound system.

I was very impressed, and I knew it was the car that I wanted, and I ended up buying it!

June 1999
After many months, the car finally turns up, and am extremely impressed! It has a very deep/bass like rumble from the exhaust, and goes bloody quick! Even to this day I have not heard any other exhaust sound the same.

Time goes on, and eventually I get used to the power, some almost 2years later!

I didn't know what to do to increase the power, but after speaking to various people, I eventually went for a BR Developments setup. This included a ..... will continue shortly.
