Yeah, I've got it - cracking package. Could never go back to dial-up / telephone internet now.
I use ADSL at work, which is slightly better (lower contention ratio), but I'd say DEFINITELY got for broadband cable - I haven't had any down time since it was installed earlier this year. BT are set to lower the price of ADSL in the next couple of months. More info at |
Seriously thinking of getting it,
you get phone line, broadband connection, and basic TV package (includes ITV2 for you GP fans) fro £40 per month, £35 if you buy the cable modem yourself seems a good offer to me? robski |
Yep I've got it.
I have had some hassles with it, the most notable being a 4 day outage. NTL refunded me my entire months rental as compensations. When it works it's excellent, when it does'nt(IMHO this is rare) it's a real pain because the engineers are busy and you may have to wait a day or so to get one AND dial up seems such a pain the butt afterwards. Go for it. |
Yep, I have it too. Only problem was setting it up due to my OS but the helpdesk were most helpful. Not had any problems yet and it flies.

I have the Telewest Cable package too, and as I do have their TV & phone it is only £25 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Considering I used to pay £12 for a 56k Pipex Dial connection, and this is ten times the speed, always on, I say go on, you have to do it !!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif |
Telewest good - I'm now £42 for phone, cable and 28 channels - result.
Plus a solid 70k/sec from a good site. btw telewest shares are 10p - they've got to go up!! |
Yep got it
100K down loads at times 25 a month Had it 7 months never missed a beat and as a special bonus they forgot to bill me (dd) until last month |
