as title, when my scooby is gone, im getting a 306 turbo diesel, and have heard stuff about them being successfully tuned to give higher bhp + torque.

anyone got a tuned one/know of somebody with one, or if not, any web site where i can get more info.

also, any tuning companies to do the work?

Not very cheap compared to VAG TDi tuning though.

Two different sorts of 306 TD -

The original one
The later TDI or PD or whatever they called it.

My mate had the original one, he used a Piper X filter (same type as for Escort cossie was the one that fitted!),full scorpion exhaust, got a boost gauge and turned the boost up. Gave him about 120bhp.

There are 306 DT's on here tuned to around 160bhp, 250+ lbs torque
There are two types, the first mechanically controlled ECU up to about 1997 1.9DT, then after that there are the new 2.0HDI which are electronically controlled and are possible to chip. There are a few on these sites that you can ask about.

Van Aaken Developments near Bracknell are worth talking to about tuning 306 oil burners. My bro has had 2 D turbos tuned by them...noticeably faster :D
