Hi,

I have 800pound to spend on a digital camera - now the problem is which one?

It has to be:
* small
* have a lcd screen
* has a zoom (but not digital)
* 3million+ pixels.
* Prefer usb
* To take images and movies
* Any type of flash/smart card.
* I don't want one that does anything else really - i.e. mp3 - this is a NO NO for me http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Any ideas on which one?

Yesterday, I bought the Fuji Finepix 6800Zoom. £550, lovely stuff but still too early to tell.

Yep, the Fuji Finepix 6800 seems to be the daddy at the moment.

any others? what about a Sony Electronics Cybershot F505V ?

I also have the Fuji 6800Zoom. Fantastic. Good software included with the camera, USB connection and fast downloads.

Well worth the money.

You wont be disappointed...

If you don't mind me asking where from..???

I got the fuji6900z yesterday, only had chance to take a few pics before the sun when in, but the quality is superb, can't fault it even on landscape shots, the colour is fantastic.
I was looking at it against the Nikon995 decided the Fuji gave the best colour and general use in the end.

OK

So that was my opinion this afternoon....this evening it stopped working after taking a grand total of 21 pictures.
Took it back for a refund so the search continues....

Batteries Flat ???

Just wondered.

Nah wasn't the battery...

It was dodgy connections inside the camera on the output sockets, usb and video output where very very iffy the slightest touch and it would drop connection. Tried the leads and it wasn't them.

I've read some reports the Fuji's have reliablity issues, hence I wanted to get my £700 back in my skyrocket as soon as mine started behaving bad (after 24hrs of buying it)

To get a cheap electrical item such as cameras, camcorders, TV, etc. Buy the latest mags on the item you want.

e.g. What camcorder, if u r looking for a camcorder.

After one or two have caught your eye check out all the adds in the mag. Pref Look for the local ones. Pop down to your local Dixons, Commet, Currys etc and compare the prices. These stores offer to beat the price and 10% of the difference. Stick with your guns. I saved over £200 on a Camcorder bought at Comet superstore in Solihul . This was the 4th shop i went into after being turned away at the others saying they coulnt match it. It eventually took 3 people in the store to confirm everything as anything over £100 has to be cleared by the big boss and i walked away with the cheapest camcorder in the country. Try it it works.

I have done this with 3 cameras, TV, Video. It works.

Cheers

Neal

I hope that doesn't happen to mine!!

I purchased it for £526.88 - that was the camera, and an extra 128mb of smart media! That also included shipping.

Please note this is without VAT, as I dont pay it in the channel islands http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
