What I need to do is take one of the mirror drives out my server and format the other before doing a diaster recovery. Whats the best way to do this. Can I download a DOS disk that I can use (if so where). or should I do it by going into the BIOS (which will take ages).

what ever you do dont low level format it :) get one paramater wrong and its not good also takes ages to do best bet as said above use dos boot disk with scsi drivers on (I ASUME YOU ARE USING SCSI IN A SERVER)then boot off it and run fdisk, then re boot and run format

But if is a SCSI disk drive on say an Adaptec controller, you could just select format disk within the Adaptec bios. Thorough enough for me when I want to completely refresh a disk :)
