Andy.F 19 February 2003 01:55 PM

Nearly all the front eng RWD kit cars have this done. Some are putting 350+ to the back wheels from their cossie engines (which is more than david will be :D )

Andy

Pavlo 19 February 2003 01:59 PM

349 to the rear wheels

AND

David_Wallis 19 February 2003 02:04 PM

David_Wallis 19 February 2003 02:35 PM

what part of my 4wd scooby with 1 600bhp engine dont you understand? :p

Im using a different gearbox which is longer, thus requiring a shorter prop.

David_Wallis 19 February 2003 07:09 PM

OMG...

Dad has just said he has balanced a prop before by having the car on axle stands and holding some chalk...

then using jubilee clips

:D

David

P20SPD 19 February 2003 07:25 PM

Knowing your dad, i bet he has done:D

David_Wallis 20 February 2003 12:25 AM

he was being serious

Andy.F 20 February 2003 11:19 AM

It's a bit like the way 'some' places balance turbo's. You measure the vibration then grind a bit off the nut, if it gets better, continue to grind, if it gets worse you grind the other side !
Same with the propshaft but you turn the position of the jubilee clip and maybe add more clips depending how badly out it is.

David_Wallis 20 February 2003 11:24 AM

I thought I was the bodger :D

I might have a prop coming anyway :D

David
