Went to Paris for a few nights over valentines. Came back only to find that someone has stolen my girlfriends necklace from ours bags after they were checked in at CDG. I dont hold much hope as they have a get-out clause for most things and will say we didnt put in our hand luggage.

The necklace isnt worth more than £100, was more sentimental value but it would still be worth getting the money back if possible.

Basically I want to know if anyone else has made a similar claim with Easyjet before.

Thanks,
Simon.

P.S. No need for any replies to highlight it was valuable and therefore should have been placed in our hand luggage. We learnt this the hard way.

Doesnt look to good. Taken from their webiste:

(d) Acceptance of Baggage by the bearer of the Baggage Identification Tag without complaint at the time of delivery is prima facie evidence that the Baggage has been delivered in good condition and in accordance with the contract of carriage, unless you prove otherwise.

You would pay the first £50.00. What about your own holiday insurance????

Sorry but your chances are slim.

Heard about a guy who lost (presumed stolen) his expensive mountain bike on a trip from the UK to Geneva with easyJet.

They paid up, but only on weight and because his bike was a high-spec lightweight jobbie, he got LESS than he would have done if it was a Hovis delivery clunker!
