Within a few years, my scooby will be for sale and then I will go for the real stuff. I was thinking of importing a P1 or Type R into Belgium and convert it into LHD.
Are there guy's who already done this because else of the steering and lights there will be lot's of things to convert I think... Wally |
Look out for ex Prodrive recce cars which were based on STI's but converted to LHD.I have seen a few 2 door V5's going for about £20,000.You could then use these for a serious project,as they have roll cages fitted and are strenghened.
Failing that there is a Czech guy converting to LHD,so it could be worth seeing whats involved. |

i know someone who specialises in converting left to right but he mainly does german cars, but its all the same. i think:D

Only problem so far, is the brake fluid resevoir interferes with the intercooler, and the power steeting hoses need to be re-routed, as the up-pipe is in the way, and some of the wiring harness needs a good stretch...
|
I was also considering a second way : Keep my European Turbo (LHD) and try to buy a trashed RHD and then keep all the parts that I needed to my car (engine, diffs, gearbox...)
Of course it must be a special model like an RA, STI or something like that because I already have an Impreza Turbo MY 2000.... |
Why dont you just build an engine for your LHD car?
|
the 2.5 rs driveline sucks... no doublt about it....

Here is an update to our STI IV conververion

I did it half year ago. STi 3 wagon to LHD
|
It is the same problems. Sti has different wiring loom and different senzors, some pins in ecu are changed etc.... :-)
For me is better to convert RHD to LHD than run STi engine on UK turbo wiring :-) |
Conversion cost me about 7.000 Euro
