Ooh it's been a mare! GT-3 is available in the shops today. Bloke in Game in Nottingham said somebody jumped the gun on the selling date so everybody became allowed to sell it.

As much as I was happy to get a copy today....electricity company had turned our power off at 9:00am to do some maintenance. It has just come back on at 14:45 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Enough of this scoobynetting lark....I'm gonna go race me some cars http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

I got mine at Game in Notts where they are doing a deal where you can get C-12 (PS One game) for 9.99 when bought with GT-3. Nice http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

BobaFett 19 July 2001 03:02 PM

Is it out everywhere?

Shaolin 19 July 2001 03:17 PM

I just phoned up game in Camberley where i reserved it......and they said i cant have it til tomorrow.......they said they will sell it today only if another shop is selling it within a 5 mile radius...........time to beat the living poop out of some 1 methinks.....

Hanslow 19 July 2001 03:33 PM

I would ring up and check before making a journey. They were definitely for sale in Game, Another World, Electronics Boutique in Notts. If you can find a same branch as mentioned, tell them they are selling them in Nottingham and get them to ring and check http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Just had a go on the rally stage with the 2000 impreza.... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Shaolin 19 July 2001 03:37 PM

Hanslow........your making me jealous!!!.......what are your 1st impressions???

roadrunner 19 July 2001 03:41 PM

Been told that EB in Milton Keynes is selling GT3 today as well....looks like I'll be paying them a visit this evening http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Hanslow 19 July 2001 03:47 PM

I've only played it for a little while (the scoobynet community needed to know it was out http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif).

All I can say is, it will be worth the extra days wait if you cannot get it today. It plays like GT-2 but with better handling (I thought so anyway) and the graphics are just a teensy weensy bit better http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I was a big fan of GT-2 and GT-3 will become a favourite as well I think. It seems more an improvement on GT-2 than a whole new innovative game, but the improvements are definitely noticeable both graphically and playability wise.

As I haven't played it to death yet, I can't give a more accurate review. I've got Ridge Racer 5 as well and suffice to say it pees all over it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Just hope the missus didn't want to watch any TV tonight http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Shaolin 19 July 2001 03:47 PM

Right ....thats it,,,,,,,,i've got the right hump now......

TRIGGER 19 July 2001 03:49 PM

Yeah - me too - what about my Tesco delivery !!! When will that arrive ?

RonaldoH 19 July 2001 10:29 PM

Shaolin, Trigger. Say goodbye to your social lives.

And gold help your girlfriends/boyfriends/wives if you have mates with a PSX2 and an I'Link. 6 player GT3 on different teles like the arcade racing games? Suites you sir.

Ron

JackClark 19 July 2001 10:57 PM

6 player, how do you link more than 2 Playstations?

DazV 19 July 2001 11:08 PM

Link more than one PS2 = iLink adapter - quite pricey!

chiark 20 July 2001 08:21 AM

The tax man, bless, has just sent me a cheque for 300 quid as a reimbursement for using my car for company business.

Hmm.... Now, what shall I use that for? Should I be sensible, and put it towards insurance??? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

JackClark 20 July 2001 08:58 AM

Link more than one, no problem. But each Playstation only has one socket, is there an adapter or something. I want two playstations to play on and a third showing the action... can it be done?

Funny that PS2 + GT3 pack is £299 from Special Reserve http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

RonaldoH 20 July 2001 09:39 AM

Guys, its a bit pricey. But my mate who has a games shop local to me was playing it yesterday with a load of his buddies. His missus was looking after the front counter and out the back they had all brought their teles and PSX2s with GT3 with them and linked them all up to play a monster 6 player game. Who needs AI now? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

Ps, just sold my turbo charged Mazda M5 and bought myself a nice little Evo 7.

Here's a tip.. don't sell a car unless you have two of them.

Reason ? Check further on in the game and you'll probably find you need (in your example Ron) an MX5 for the Convertible challenge or something and you'll have to pay top whack to buy + mod it, when the game only gives you something like 5000Cr trade-in

TRIGGER 20 July 2001 10:14 AM

Can somebody just explain exactly how 2 tvs and 2 ps2s can be connected and how much it costs ? (pricey maybe but how much ??)

DavidBrown 20 July 2001 10:17 AM

You can buy an i-link cable from your local games shop. It's about £11

Then just run the lead between them.

You need something more if you want to connect more than 2 together.

It's a shame I can't run the lead between the US + PAL machines I've got http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

BrownDot 20 July 2001 01:18 PM

David,

You can link the US and UK but the method is a little pricey and illegal(!)

Do you see where I'm coming from ?
