Just bought a firewire card to allow me to download DV.........
Now - when I want to write a video CD - easy CD creator comes up with a consistent error 'unable to write.....' (without even trying to access the CD rom.......?! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
Is this a software problem (what ??) or hardware....... anyone else experienced the same thing ?

I use nero - it will write vcd and s-vcd discs. Just make sure that your DVD will read CD-R's.

Easy CD Creator does create stuff like that BUT....

Its version 4 onwards that does it.

Also, you must make sure its up-to-date with the latest patch, or it won't recognise your CD burner if its a new one on the market.

Avoid the latest version (v5?) of Easy CD Creator AT ALL COSTS - its not sold by Adaptec, its sold by ROXIO and it REALLY messes up your system, in some cases needing a re-format.

I'm no expert but i'd say it's the software your using. Adaptec easy cd creator won't copy vcd or anything Good.

The best software i have come across is Diskjuggler or clone cd as these will copy anything! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Not that i'd copy anything dubious! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif Hope this help's. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I thought that Adaptec=Roxio and they just split the comapny to keep the HW and SW separate - I maybe wrong however. I use Easy CD Creator 4 (with all the patches - as said above this is essential) for creating 'comilation' video CDs. I have seen no reason for me to upgrade to v5 as yet as v4 does the job fine. I have no problem placing joke AVIs, MPEGs etc onto VideoCD format using ECDC4, and then playing on my TV/DVD player so patching the software from
