Could you tell me how the scooby ecu, produces a fault code?
i.e. its procedure.

Maybe my question was misunderstood/explained wrong.

I was after the procedure the ECU determinds a sensor, is malfunctioning. It's checking routine, before deciding it's broke.
Then stores the fault code.
