My girlfriend is 25 years young, she rides the 'ring' in 9.30, and thats pretty fast !!!, she even can make the brakes fade and tyres chirping in corners. That surprises lots of my friens...!!!

Sith 08 February 2003 12:28 AM

Tiggs,

How does she do with flicking the bike corner to corner? Awesome power to weight ratio, but I expect it's a little hard to reach the brakes tho. :D

GTTurbo 08 February 2003 04:50 AM

LOL the time! just got in, too hung ova to sleep!!

L driver @17 on Turbo 2000 MY97

Driving 22B at 18, fantastic car, want it back, miss it loads!
Also 355, Dino, 996, P1, STi4, civic type-r, Cooper S, VTS, 205/106GTi's, Uno Turbos etc...

Now 20, I feel ever so lucky to have driven all of these cars. Note, none of these cars were mine - yeh I wish!

Dad owned first 2, but now cannot afford such cars, oh well he enjoyed them both very much.

Before you ask, my car is a very clean Punto GT Turbo hence user name. Can't quite afford a scooby yet, one day eh!

Does this count?

Cheers

Brun 08 February 2003 07:56 AM

It counts enough :)
You have a turbo so ur half way there.
Good look with the hang over ;)

Scoob99 08 February 2003 09:12 AM

STi, well I know what i was like when I was younger and my dad had what I called one of the best cars on the road the SD1 V8 Rover and he use to let me drive it quite alot, Jamie has only passed his test Oct last year so I thought, why not.
Cheers
Colin

Brun 08 February 2003 09:17 AM

Insured? ;)

turbo wrx 08 February 2003 09:26 AM

I wouldn't let him out on his own, I know what I was like when I was that age. I have said to my wife many times that if I had the scooby at 17/18 I probably would have done myself and the car serious harm.

Scoob99 08 February 2003 10:05 AM

Brun.......Would I:D

blackrex 08 February 2003 04:54 PM

Let me just comment on the difference in culture (btw i'm not American by birth or origin). Here in the U.S. at our school (everyone 18 or younger) i can comment that we have 3rd gen rx-7, bmw 330ci, Supra (450whp), my bugeye wrx, camaro z28,350z, several other domestic v8's including many mustangs, acura rsx, Integra with turbo, and several honda's with various stage of mods. Kind of scary when you think about it. I started with a slow little car as you should and then got my new car, but many actually started with these beasts...

Pbone 08 February 2003 06:44 PM

You did what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you need a slap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How many times had he fell off his bike/scooter.
It must be your age.... momentary lapse of sanity:D. I'll ring the clinic for you later.

Rich and Mini 08 February 2003 06:47 PM

Lucky chap indeed! I'm now 18, but have driven more cars than most people double my age due to the fact my dad has been in the motor trade since I was born ( he used to let me out in his company cars on my own by the time I was 6 on fields and private land ). But since I passed my test January last year I've been able to drive VTSs, the 3 top spec MGs ( the MG ZR 160, MG ZS 180 AND MG ZT 190 )MINI One / Cooper, just about the whole Citroen range upto the 3.0 V6 C5, Rover 75 2.5 V6, BMW E46 316s ( not quick but bloody nice to drive ), plus loads more Unfortunately not an Impreza though ( the company my dad works for has a Subaru franchise, just I'm not covered on their insurance for that powerful a car. ). My own car is a 1275 Mini with 286 cam, removable front, lightened flywheel, straight cut gear etc, not "quick" but quicker than the Nova boys et al.

It's not how old you are when you drive a powerful car, it's how responsible you are behind the wheel. I thrashed ALL of the above cars, but only when safe to do so ( local airport for a start ), it's also knowing how to handle them. Would your son have known how to control the car's initial understeer?

Rich :D
