What jabs will I need for Cuba?

Hi,

A good friend went to Cuba earlier this year. He was a stone lighter coming back mainly due to the absolutly appaling food there. He and his mates were constantly pestered by dodgy geezers etc and the place really p#ssed him off because of this constant 'In yer faceness' of the locals.

Apart from this, the place is steeped in Cubaness and the trip was worthwhile.

This mate is now 3 months into a 7 month world walkabout..... git!

Did Cuba a few years ago,
Stayed in Varadero all inclusive, indeed the food is the worst we have ever experienced on holiday. Beaches very good, calm sea but watch the jelly fish http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
Not a place I would return to however a day in Havana makes up for it all, approx $50pp from Varadero.
Dolphinarum is also worth a visit, for $35pp you can swim with them for about 25mins.
Can't remember the exact jabs but nothing too bad.
Cheers
Allan

Cuba is good but try not to just do a beach package. Although this is a great value way of geting some carribean sunshine, you don't see thee real Cuba. Make sure you tag on a day or two in Havana - the place has a fantastic and unique atmosphere. Don't worry about health - one of the few advantahges of Castro's regime is a world class public health programme - malaria etc have been erradicated. Typhoid, tetanus, polio and Hep. A vaccinations are recommended but as far as I know, precautionary. The food is generally pretty bland but will be OK to eat in most hotels and restaurants. The normal rules of not drinking the water and not eating stuff that has been out in the sun etc apply as they do nearly anywhere. I found the locals to be genuinely warm and welcoming. In some areas you will get street sellers approaching you only after your dollars but only like you'd get as a tourist in other countries.
