Everything!!!! Bloody fantastic place, my advice is don't waste time sleeping, there is so much to do and see. Get a good guide book
by Time Out- Las Vegas, tells you eveything.
A few things which are a must.....
New York New York rollercoaster http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Stratosphere and the rides on top, go around 1700 just before dusk, and the view is spectacular when all the strip is lit up. All of the casinos and this takes ages as you'll do it at night as well as the day. Good burger joint is Fat Burger, they do the best burgers we've ever had, I think it's across from Monte Carlo hotel, but it's set back and not that big but defo worth a butchers. For discount shopping go to Belz Factory Outlet
this has eveything at discounted prices.
The casinos have freebies which are a must,
Treasure Island is the best, it has a pirate ship battle right on the front every 90 mins
but get there early, Bellagio has a fantastic
fountain display, Mirage has an erupting volcano. The above are just the tip of the icberg, visiting Vegas is an assault on the senses, but defo get a good guide and drink lots of water as it's so dry it's unreal.
Hope you enjoy the trip(I know you will http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)

Be good..

I'll lower the tone a little http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Pick up a few of the free flysheets and newspapers being handed out later on in the evening....very interesting items not usually advertised in tourist literature http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

So I'm told http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

Hoppy - did you have to pay extra for the kinky stuff? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Hoppy 08 June 2001 11:01 AM

LOL Paul http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif No, it was all part of the show. Quite good actually - I got a quick rub-down from the waitress and a free drink!

On a more serious note, if you can get a helicopter ride through the Canyon (not a mere plane ride) you'll never forget it.

Richard.

Coaxing one of the locals to show you around town would be the best way. Otherwise, check out Venetian, probably the best hotel out there. Also, if you happen to stay at Mandalay Bay, do go to the Beach Level. It should be hot in a couple weeks.

If you want a tattoo, the cleanest tatoo place I've ever seen (and I'm not joking), is somewhere in downtown Vegas, a bit past the strip clubs from the major hotels. A bit pricey, but hey, if you want a sterile place, that's it!

Clubs, check out Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay (women hovering above the club on hangers. If you are into Techno, go to Ra at Luxor. There's another club called Club 52(?) missed it last time.

Also check out Cirque de Soleil. Awesome! A bit pricey, but worth the $70 US.

Bungy Jumping at Circus Circus.

Oh yeah, bring lots of protection (protection from the sun...and the other kind of protection http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)

Peace...

Indoor Skydiving!!

Also go on the 'Search for Atlantis ride' They call it 4D - very clever http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

At the Flamingo Hilton you can see penguins outside in the 40 deg heat http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif only in Vegas...

Go the champagne buffet at Maxim(I think) $6 all you can eat with free champagne http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Best thing of all before you go is to buy the Time-out guide to Vegas, oh and pick up all the 2for1 deal coupons. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

If you're new to the casinos, learn to play during the day so as not to annoy the experienced gamblers at night, if you're new to Blackjack don't sit on the far left - i.e. don't be last to play before the dealer, if you make a mistake you usually cock it up for the others!!

Enjoy!

Go see all the hotels; it's impossible to describe them properly!!! My favourite things in no particular order:

Helicopter ride over the strip at night
Water display @ Belagio
Cesars Palace (kin massive place)
Star Trek experience @ The Hilton
Stratosphere tower (don't look down http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif )
The canal on the 2nd floor of the Venetian!!!

Absolutely mental place http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif your bound to have fun, it's just difficult to take it all in (wish I was there http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif )

Richard

PS watch out for the static, I spent a whole week opening doors using my feet http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

PPS free internet access in Planet Hollywood in Cesars Palace so you can keep up to date on Scoobynet http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
