My copy of Grand Theft Auto has gone Pete Tong and wont load all of the time. I emailed CD-WOW last night at Midnight and received the following reply 3 hours later.

So no only are they nearly always cheapest for music, games etc but they back it up with great service and without u needing to send your copy back before they send a replacement.

An impressed customer!

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your recent order, and very sorry to hear you have received a
faulty copy - I can appreciate how disappointing this must be.

I will ensure that a replacement is dispatched to you immediately, and that
a FREEPOST envelope is sent, first-class post, today - to enable you to
return the faulty disc to us.

We would appreciate it if you enclose a note with the returned item, clearly
stating the order number (if possible), your name and email address, and a
very brief description of what is wrong with it.

I am grateful for your understanding and cooperation and I sincerely hope
that this genuinely rare occurrence will not deter you from using our
service again in the future.

If you have any further enquiries then please do not hesitate to contact
us - we're here to help!

Best Regards
Craig

You just can't fault cdwow.

The Zohan 05 February 2003 09:09 AM

WOW, that really is customer service!

ChrisB 05 February 2003 09:11 AM

Excellent - their delivery times still impress me. Get stuff from Hong Kong quicker than places in the UK ship out.

Hello

CD-Wow are amazingly good value and have great customer service.

I wouldn't order CD's or DVD's from anywhere else.

Steve.

Andy Tang 05 February 2003 09:31 AM

You get it quickly, but I assumed it was a UK company. I get a game from Hong Kong and I get charged duty on it!! I might as well have gone to the shop straight away and got it there and then for the same money! Rather than wait 3 days for it!!

I'm never using them again, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!

Andy Tang 05 February 2003 09:33 AM

Also ordered some CD's and they are not meant to be sold in Europe! It even says that on the back of the CD!

Perfect business plan!!! Hold no stock and sell stuff that shouldn't be sold!!

ChrisB 05 February 2003 09:36 AM

Need to get your prescription checked Mr T ;)

On just about every page it says:

"CD WOW! is an international supplier of CDs. Please check the track listing to ensure we stock the version you require."

I've ordered a good pile of CDs from then and not been charged duty once.

TopBanana 05 February 2003 09:36 AM

They obviously do hold stock though!

andrewdelvard 05 February 2003 09:38 AM

Thats a bit rough Andy. They did apologise for that to all the customers. It was just a blip. I've ordered games from the since paid no duty ever. And whatsmore I take them into 'Game' for 50%exchange!

P1Fanatic 05 February 2003 10:08 AM

Never ever been charged duty on anything from them. They make u well aware the discs arent European but with games that doesnt matter as long as they work - cd's may have different tracks but thats up to you to check as they say.

Play do the same with CD's.

Just did a search for a few random titles, and WOW - they have a crap selection.....
Tiny, never heard of bands like ELO; Deep Purple; INXS; Bob Marley; Seal; Clash; Pretenders; Rainbow; Led Zeppelin have a maximum of one CD each in the catalogue...that is truly ****e.

Amazon give 83 for Led Zep alone (admittedly not all CDs, but I gave up looking after checking 21 different albums available on Amazon)

Probably just good for all you young an' happenin' geezers

Robertio 05 February 2003 07:00 PM

I'm a fan of CD wow as well, you will not be charged duty if the parcel is below a certain value (IIRC 17 quid) which is why they send out all CDs individually.

They do have a small choice of stock, but if you are looking for any chart stuff they are really good. I'd prefer to have limited choice at a good price than pay extra just so they can keep lots of stock like everywhere else.
If I want something older or more specialised I get it elsewhere.

Scumbag 05 February 2003 08:12 PM

Prices are good, admittedly (The one Led Zep album -Remasters- was £8-99 - superb value)

Unfortunately I cant say I buy any chart stuff...shame

jbryant 06 February 2003 03:21 PM

I've had nothing but excellent service from them, including 1 day replacements for a lost order which I think was snaffled before it got to me at work.
