alan_bell 03 February 2003 11:37 PM

J G M 2 whats your Bhp is it better than haveing PPP or dont you know if this ECU is better than PPP for MY96 i want one thanks alan

Jolly Green Monster 2 04 February 2003 12:43 AM

Power is better than PPP.

I haven't had my car on a rolling road but I would guess with the Scoobysport backbox around 250... guess..

Mines a MY96 UK Wagon..

Email the guys from the site link.. best £60 I spent on my car.

JGM :)

i thought 'they' meant an ecutek but erm i dooont think you can get em for your year. stick to your ppp what i doesnt give in bhp it makes up for in torque, ive got the my99, 'virtually' the same set up as bash and he rolling roaded at 270 bhp, dont know whether i got that or not, but i do know its faster now than before, and soundls better...dont get to bogged down by rolling rd bhps
in an ideal world id like to ecutek mine but jees what a f u c k on driving miles away and buggering about (ooh bugger a bit like what i did for the ppp !!??) ill just shut up then lolol
its late an im tired lol

NICEBLOKE35 04 February 2003 12:57 AM

Jolly Green Monster 2 04 February 2003 09:02 PM

The scoobyecu is for the pre97 JECS ecu's..

Ecutek is for the 99 etc..

I think you knew that already?

Sorry for the double post above.

JGM :)

Mr J 04 February 2003 09:20 PM

oops Sorry Allan....
I been away a few days..but...
mail info@scoobyecu.co.uk ,and I think Scott T or David W can answer most of your q's

A Scooby ecu is a remap of your standard ecu..., by adding a x-tra chip.
I think the guys can make it work very well.

I live in Sweden that's why I have some problem to get help with the mapping ;)..as this is a DIY project it's most unlikely that thy just happen the get so far up north that I live...~4000km
But they would in the other hand see ~1m of snow, and see or feel
that a turbo works pretty nice in temps bellow -20 deg C ;):D
And drive on frozen lakes with rally tires..is just so fun :D

But I think that you are in UK and that would make it a bit easier, to get help with it ...I guess :D

Cheers
/Jan

Ok i have brought one of the Said Scooby ECU boards from ScottT and I would say it's the best £60 sqiud that I have spent in ages:D:D:D

And it makes the car pull like train:D:D and a trained baboon can fit one it's that easy.

ozzy 02 March 2003 10:32 PM

Ah, it's probably one of these then.

It's a DIY plug-in board for the earlier cars. Sorry, I've no experience of it although the lads who developed it are regulars on this BBS.
