The activation in XP is intended to stop you 'borrowing' a copy.

There was a release that 'got out' last week but MS shut down the activation code after 7 hours (apparently).

Numerous cracks/hacks have/are being attempted, but if you're not on the list, I'd wait.....

Thanks for the quick reply, as to the question no I don't but it keeps the shift key from becoming redundant. :-)

Jase,

Don't bother. The Beta 2 release isn't much different as far as UI is concerned apart from the skin change (which is hideous).

Lots of stuff happening in background, more drivers added, but nothing to get excited about yet.

I'm still running Beta 1 on my dog food server and it is still stable !!!! I just cannot believe it.

Cheers

OK Guys you are all still posting, nobody feeling generous

Jase,

Sorry, but the terms outlined in the licencing of the products I'm sent from Microsoft specifically outlaws passing the software onto third parties. Got to abide by their rules.

Maybe a call to Microsoft in the Uk might furnish you with a Beta. Has worked for me in the past.

Cheers

Theres an official magazine called Microsoft Office Xp which has a 30 day trial of XP if you have no luck with a "borrow copy".
Unfortunately I have already given this disc away.

Thanks Bajie

It's the operating system not the office product
