Erm its the Austrian Touring Championship, not the Australian's............

Easy -- none of the other drivers could see where they were going 'cos of the smoke from overfuelling ;):D

But seriously, a diesel could make a good short-circuit racer 'cos of the low-down grunt, but might lose out 'cos it can't rev out as much. Maybe fit it with CVT?

Regardless of being a diesel, how many other cars in the series are turbocharged???
NONE.

It is pretty easy to get as much power as you want from any turbocharged engine, so how would a normally aspirated petrol engine be expected to win??
Now, if they were to allow petrol turbo cars in the series, I wonder what would win.
Diesels have come a long way, but it isnt a fair comparison, to compare turobcharged vs N/A. The turbocharged motor will always be better.
