I have a MY00 Sport and unfortunatly it has drums on the rear :(

How easy is it to change these to disks?
Would i be better off upgrading the disks on the front instead?

Any help would be much apreciated thanks.

mate I had until recently a my96 sport and thought about changing
the rear to disk but stuart newby @ Townend subaru (Carnforth Lancs) advised against as most of the braking is done at the front, went for group N disks mintex pads and braided hoses in the end what a differance!!!! great setup and relativily cheep?
highly recomended hope this helps :):):)

I had a simular issue with my MY99 wagon. Im off to Midland Impreza this weekend to have pagid disks, pads and braided hoses fitted on all four corners for about £650 ! Ive looked around and I dont think you will beat them on price and from what other scooby drivers have said in this forum they really know their Impreza's too. I will let you know how I get on next week.

Simon.

cool - i have just come into some more cash (makes a refreshing change!) and that sounds like a good deal to me after having a look around. Let me know if you can stop afterwards :D and if it seems to make any difference to the rather "touchy" ABS.

Dude, I had the kit fitted yesterday and was advised to "Drive normally" for 200 miles and then give the brakes some serious punishment. I hit the 200 miles mark this afternoon and all I can say is ...
...It stops !!
I stood on the brakes at 75-80 Mph several times in a row, no brake fade, the abs worked well (wet road) and she just keeps on stopping !
In the end the guys at midland impreza fitted pagid disks and pads all round, new wrx callipers on the back and a set of lightly used braided hoses, the total cost with fitting and VAT came to £670, which Im confident you wont beat. Give them a call, its money well spent !

you can contact them via www.midland-impreza.com or 024 7637 3555

Let me know hopw you get on.

Simon.
