As you may have seen in another post, my car has suffered from a mouse attack.

It was funny at the time - but now he's been back for more.

I've got a serious problem.

He's had a go at a few rubber / plastic bits, but seems to really like the coolant hoses.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a product which could be sprayed in the engine bay which would discourage / dispel rodents.

Clearly it'd have to be something that wouldn't smell rank when hot.

A couple of bits of information ...
  • I live in a fairly isolated place in the country.
  • I don't have a garage - the car is parked outside.
  • I don't want to put poison down because of the danger to wild birds.
  • I don't want to set traps round the car (I have hens).
  • I can't get a cat - the wife is alergic.

I'd be grateful for any (sensible) ideas.

TIA

N :)

Get a Camel Spider. You should see it in action..

Numptie, have you tried one of the electronic mouse repellant devices ? This is a common problem for car and boat owners, especially when they are put into storage.

They swear by them. Don't know if it will annoy your hens tho :)

use humane, live-capture mousetraps baited with Nutella, they're perfect. Then release the little fella a few miles down the road.

How about a pet mole? Bloody big claws, they can kill rodents up to Guinea Pig size.

How about a horse? ;):D

Yeah yeah ...

Thanks guys but I'd like to keep this out of muppet if you don't mind.

Dunk - cheers for that - I'm on the case.

The ultrasonic thingies seem to work, you can usually get them in Innovations catalogues (I love 'em :)) or I found this website
which sells a "MiniMammalGo" at £20 ...

P*ss off mice
