What components do I need, it doesn't have to be of an STi v6, but after a few near misses, I have decided that i'm getting ABS fitted to my Type R !!

I've been told that I need 4 x ABS sensors, plus some ABS ECU of some kind, and maybe some wiring !

I am eventually gonna get some AP 6pots fitted, but as my current brakes lock the 18's up as it is, ABS is definately needed for safe braking I now think.

Could I get the parts off something like a P1 for example ??

ALL/ANY advice highly appreciated !

Dont think this works because of the adjustable diff or something.

P1 has ABS because Prodrive removed the diff.

not overly sure but after the amount of people moaning about there ABS on scoobs I'd consider long and hard if its worth it.

I'm sure this is something John Falstead will be able to advise on as he knows all about the diff etc.

the typeR/RA uses diferent hubs and diffs to the P1. You cant fit ABS sensors on a typeR/RA without replacing the hub assemblies. Also ABS isnt compatible with the centre diff.

You need to learn to use the centre diff more, especially in the wet, plus practice cadence braking. These cars stop extremely well if you learn how to use them.

what tyres are you running?
It sounds silly but i find it extremely hard to activate my ABS on my scoob doing stops from quite high up (in the wet as well as the dry) but then again i do have a different brake set up as i think that 6 pots would be a little harsh for everyday driving ;)
As John states, these cars can stop quickly, you have to learn to drive around not having abs (which is pretty easy btw ;)) but if you wanted abs to start with then you should have gone for a car fitted with it.....
