I'm looking for opinions on Powerstation's Impreza alignment and bumpsteer mod.

Can't comment on their own but had this mod done at Falkland at it transformed the car dialing out the understeer and increased stability under heavy braking :D

Here's an opinion...

Absolutely awesome :D

- Turn in to corners is better
- High speed stability is (seriously) better
- Understeer (virtually gone except in wet conditions when I'm a hooligan ;) )

Steering just generally feels more direct

Have it done, there is no way yo will be disappointed

Is there any tyre wear implications with the bumpsteer mod? as i had sum bad wear on inside of current tyres & admitedly due in part 2 bad alignment now rectified but just wondered if bumpsteer mioght meen more even wear perchance?

er, its a slippery slope tho as you'll soon be back wanting ALK, eibachs and whiteline ARB... all money well spent... :-)

The bump steer includes full 4 wheel alignment so if you are getting uneven wear from incorrect alignment it will be corrected.

This is the case for the PowerStation bump steer and the TSL wheel alignment.

Powerstation, Set up superb.

I had the Powerstation Bumpsteer, ARB, Links, ALKit, Geometry, + aa few Pflex Bushes, fitted last week. It was very wet as i was driving home. I found that all the understeer had gone completly, however it had a tendency to oversteer coming out of round abouts, If you like a bit of sliding action get it done! I have not tried it in the dry yet, but have found out that softening thr ARB slightly should keep the rear nailed to the ground. Powerstation: Top knowledge, top products, top guys. (no cash discount though)

Can definitely recommend it

ROSSWALKER : u had everything done i want done, bumpsteer, anti lift, bushes, etc. how much for all that ?

or Anyone : can you give us a breakdown on roughly how much each bit costs ?

paul, for about £900, i got Whiteline rear anti roll bar, solid drop links, nylon bushes, Eibachs, anti-lift kit, bumpsteer mod and geometry alignment.

And as everyone else says, recommended.

And for anyone with a wagon - get a rear strut brace!! :D

Just be careful after you've had it done! When I got mines done I was warned that several customers had stuffed it by oversteering soon after the mod! I of course provoked it first chance I got ;):D

You won't regret taking your car to Power Station for the full suspension sort out. The difference on my car was amazing. You might well consider the Whiteline solid rear anti-roll bar links too. It complements the set-up and makes a noticeable difference to the handling. Had no trouble with excessive oversteer, the car feels totally balanced although if you get the back end to drift slightly it is progressive and totally controllable.

I have now had a chance to test the car in the dry, I found the over steer was slightly to much for my liking. So I softened the rear ARB to middle setting, this has had the effect of slightly removing the cars tendency to oversteer (keeping the back end nailed to the floor)and to me has given exactly the result I was afer. I.E huge amounts of grip and nutral handling, followed by progressive oversteer when nearing the limits of grip. Perhaps some research in to tyres and preasures next. However not claiming to be any kind of racing driver!! The way the car now very progressivly oversteers is very reasuring. (and does make you feel like Colin Mc Rae!) Thanks to Powerstation, long gone are the days of understeer followed by unpredictable body roll and tail out oversteer...fish tailing! I can whole heartedly recomend this set up to any impreza owner. Im not sure what part of the kit causes the major effect of the finished product. However I can say without doubt £600ish is a small price for what feels like a new car.

I got all that done except the Eibachs.
I agree that it makes the car much nicer to drive.
What I want to know now is: if I decide to get the Eibachs at a later date, (there seems to be much enthusiasm about them), will I have to have all the bumpsteer/alignment done again, or do they do it automatically?

I have had Eibachs and alignment - if I now go for ARB links and /or strut brace do I need the alignment again ?

dammit, wish I'd never read this thread. Got mine booked in for some tuning at Powerstation in March... should I get the bumpsteer and alignment. Already have the Eibachs :D
