Hi,
I'm working on a VB6 project and we need some sort of label control that will display the Unicode character set (specifically Chinese).

Any ideas?

Cheers

Fosters,
Cheers mate. Already tried this route....

This article is Microsoft at it's best. It says use the forms 2 control bu then goes on to say it's part of office and is not redistributable.

It's also buggy.

Thanks anyway.

it says ordinarily you need office installed, but the redistribution of FM20.dll page does illustrate (complicated tho it looks) how to do it not having office.

it doesn't look easy though a list of 30 things under Redistribution restrictions

Ah but it also says:

"The use of these Microsoft Forms components in your own compiled applications, such as those written with Microsoft Visual C++ and Microsoft Visual Basic, is not recommended or supported. These controls were designed and tested to work exclusively within Microsoft Office and its Visual Basic for Applications environment. "

I tried to find a third party control but there doesn't seem to be any.

A Micrsoft MVP said:

1) Write your own "draw" control.

This is to time consuming for the project

2) Buy a third party control.

I can't find any.

3) Upgrade to .Net.

Now I would love to take this option but I aren't aloud and don't have the time.

This is turning into a major head ache.

Do you now of any places that would good to search that i might of missed.

Cheers
