I have heard, but am not sure if part of the PPP includes an extra metal tube. Some have just said the plastic pipes are replaced???
Can someone let me know the deal here??? Thanks.
Oh and whatever the answer, is there much advantage? and where can you get em???

Depends on what MY car you are referring to.

My 01WRX has PPP, there's only one blue (Prodrive) pipe which comes out bottom of intercooler (I think).

Classic cars with PPP had 3 (I think) but not sure where?

You can buy quite a range of replacement pipes, made by Samco and available from most scooby specialists.

At least for the new age cars, answer may be slightly different for classics . . .

The pipe they replace is the "Y" shaped one under the intercooler. If you look at the standard one it is not exactly designed to optimise flow, so replacing it must help a bit. Also, the OEM one apparently splits sometimes if you're running above standard boost. A set of samco hoses (which is what prodrive use IIRC) with this and two other short hoses is ~£80. Can't comment on whether it makes a difference on its own as I fitted my hose at the same time as a full exhaust.

Edit to add - it is a silicon hose, not a metal one. Got mine from JW racing, although scoobysport, graham goode etc all sell them - check out the scoobyshop.

The PPP for the MY99/00 contained a aluminium y piece and two silicon hoses for the intercooler. A performance mid section, backbox and of course the ECU.
Have a look at http://www.performancesubaru.co.uk under PPP and induction for pictures and ordering.
I'm sure other vendors on here could also help, but PS show the parts.

Cheers,

Rob.
