just bought another wrx,was checking the mods and that and discovered it had a jecs ecu....anyone heard of these,are they any good???????

They are the standard factory ECU.

what code shoul my ecu have 93 wrx/its says jecs all over it ,been told its standard,and then not standard by another?????help please

try posting in drivetrain... get some serial numbers too

Maybe it's the standard JECS ECU (i wasn't aware they did uprated ones for our cars) with an aftermarket chip. That could be why you've been told it's uprated.

Mine's a MY95UK & it's got JECS slapped all over my ECU :D

JECS make the whole engine management system for the cars, including some sensors, the injectors, MAF sensor etc.

If there is anything plugged into the 28pin socket on the ECU circuit board then it's most likely an aftermarket chip.

However, all 91-00 cars use JECS ecus, just like european cars often use a Bosch management system or similar.
