This interests me too.

I'd love BBE 45T (for B beast)

how did you contact DVLA? did you just phone them up? email?

Sorry for the cross-post (I posted under general but then thought it would be better here).

This is a long shot but I'm running out of ideas...

I'm basically after the private plate HAN510W (for obvious resons http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif). Have spoken with DVLA who say it's been

issued, but they can neither give me the details of the owner, or pass mine on to the owner for them to get in touch with me http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif.

Someone mentioned in the past that you could 'easily' find out an owner from a reg plate. Obviously, this is not something you want public knowledge (in case some arse wants to find where you live to get your Scoob http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif).

If anybody knows how to find the owners address, or can do it for me...please let me know. I've never had a personalised plate and wanted my name so that I could be more recognised at meets.

With it being an old W reg it's probably on some abandoned car gathering rust whilst I search manically trying to

locate it. If that's the case, I'll even pay the scrapping fee!!!

Any help appreciated.

I have both spoken to them over the phone and by email.

I was surprised that they wouldn't even act as a third party and give my details to the registered owner and ask them to contact me.

If anyone has any idea how I can get the info, please let me know!!!

What you really need is a v freindly policeman.

I tried this the other day, but my friend was very concerned about inappropriate use of police time and facilities, so he wasnt forth coming.

If you can find a willing policeman this is probably your only hope.

There is one way to get there details. This is a grey area,

Pretend that the car with that number plate hit your car or vise versa (nothing big, i.e. just say a carpark prange or wing mirrow). Phone the DVLA who then have to give you there details for contact purpose.
