my "check engine" light flashes error 23 on a self test, does this mean the maf sensor is faulty or is it something to do with the intake filter ??
|
had mine replaced today with no engine warning lights just car kept wanting to stall at roundabouts
And no i havent fitted an induction kit :p |
APS induction kits leave a historical 23 in the ECU at least on the MY99/00 ECUs, but never a current fault. If you plugged the greens together it is a present fault, if you plug the blacks it is historical. Worth corroborating your fuelling from the lambda voltage or by some other means.
|
thanks both, I plugged the blacks together, I thought the greens were only for ecu reset as at http://www.mudd90.freeserve.co.uk/technicalstuff_diy1.htm
How do I do voltage check on the lambda? and where is it? |
Use a DIGITAL voltmeter (otherwise lambda sensor fails) and connect to the signal wire and ground. See the Link ECU manual on the MRT site for typical values and wiring diagrams - at least for MY99/00.

scooby555 how much did it cost?

wayne9t9,
Re lambda sensor, it should be ideally checked with an oscilloscope between pin 4 of the sensor i.e. looking at the back of the connector (wire end) with the key pointing up the bottom LHS pin and body earth (with engine idling) Signal should be between 0.1v & 1.0v which translates to : 0v to 0.2v (lean) 0.7v to 1.0v (rich) Alternatively Signal line is pin 6 of connector B43 at the ECU ;) Pete [Edited by teknopete - 1/20/2003 1:33:01 AM] |
