Hi,

I borrowed my mates E320 Merc (new shape) today for a bit and must admit that it is absolutely superb. Nice and powerful and effortless to drive.

He's selling it in september so I might have to buy it (motorway car an all that) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Has anyone had any experience with them in terms of reliability, running costs etc. (he claims its *loads* less than the scoob to run, on parts etc and yes he has owned a scoob.).

ta,
Matt

E55 AMG rocks, but the new s-class.....well its does what it says on the tin. Its Class.

Get an C43 AMG. Proper car, they hold up very well in accidents as well...I can vouch for that, I have been a passenger in one! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

Mattski,
Use to have a 230K Clk, superb, driving to work in the scoob I get 27mpg, driving boring, with a crappy MY00 interior and cheap plastic, the clk turns in 36mpg, and I swished around in leather, silence and the nuts in quality, a service was when the computer said the oil needed changing and topped at 150 though, as long as it's serviced at Merc, guarenteed not to breakdown.....for life

They're quite good y know

I had a 1991 Merc 300CE (old shape EClass, but the Coupe). Otherwordly build quality, a real honey of a straight six (fit sports exhaust and it sounds like a TVR). Running costs were the price of petrol, nothing ever broke.

All in all great cars, recommended for swanning about in ;-)

I've got a 1995 E220 (older W124 shape)with 120K miles on it. I've had it since about a year old. Very impressed with the car. The dealer experience has been less than superb, so much so that I'll probably ditch Franchised Dealers totally and opt for a good local specialist.

I went to see a 1993 S320 yesterday which was the dogs danglies, but I need to wait until the end of the year before thinking of changing.

The warranty (SIgnature) is superb, but then agaion at 650 quid per year (for my car anyway) you'd want it to be.

Got any specific questions?

I had a fully loaded 220CE before the scoob.
If you get one, make sure it has the six cylinder engine, otherwise their just too sluggish.
Never had any problems with mine other than the holier than thou attitude of the dealers at service time ...

I'll be renting an Sleazyrentacar A140 from my good friend Stelios for my Easter holidays in Mull, I'll let you know if it's any good and if it passes the moose test!

be very carefull with "Easy rent" they have a terrible reputation with claming damage was done to the vehicle. They make you wait over a hour before someone checks the car . most folk just sign and leave. This matter has been on T.V loads of times. And once you have signed thats it...
