Sorry, I know it's been asked before, and I think even I asked it 6 mths ago...
Got a DVD drive in my PC, want to make it multi-region (it's LG or Samsung, will confirm later...). Computer shop says I can flash it (risk of total annihilation) or use software. I prefer the latter. Can anyone guide me to the right software? I'm going to collect the PC from repair now, so I hope to log on to scoobynet in a couple of hours and find the answer. If my flippin' cable internet works... many thanks in advance Brendan |
Hello
DVD Genie will certainly sort out any (okay, most) software DVD players. http://www.inmatrix.com/files/dvdgenie_download.shtml Steve. |
You'll probably have to do both. DVD Genie will take care of the Windows/DVD player region coding, but the DVD drive itself could also be region coded. Here's a utility that will tell you if your drive is region coded or not.
If it is region locked, then you'll need to choose the appropriate firmware from this page and flash your hardware. In fact, the Firmware Flash website is generally good for reading around the subject. |
