As pointed out on the thread it was attacking the beliefs of an entire religion, not just Al Quaeda.

I'm pretty sure we have a most religions represented on here, so we should respect them (even if you don't agree with them).

My religion is based on the fundemental disrespect of other religions. By denying me the ability to disrespect other religions you are disrespecting my religion..

ChrisB - I simply asked if it was that thread that was removed, did I complain ONCE? I genuinely didnt know it was that thread!! I do not like your attitude as if I meant someone harm!! I DIDNT!!

The joke (in my opinion) was very funny - if the MODS decide to remove it then OK, I respect that. It WAS NOT a piss take of another religion at all!! It was a mockery of the English Male if anything!!

However much I appreciate the MODS and SIMON I would suggest that the deletion of that was overkill - just IMHO ;)

He is the Moderator - I dont think ChrisB is a power crazy MOD - in his defence, he will have obtained the support from all the other mods and Simon before he deleted it. I dont agree with whats happened, BUT it would not have been a single act by ChrisB - as that wouldnt have been right. So, we need to live with it .... take the mickey out of them by all means - but dont forget they have a job to do!

I do agree with ChrisB in removing the thread if it started to attack an entire religion, BUT can i just point out that Al-Quaeda and certain members of the Islam religion believe that every other religon is inferior and either attack or completely disrespect other people and country's religions. Treat others as you would like to be treated i think is what certain Islamic followers should take into account..... If they don't respect Christianity and other non-islamic religons then they don't reserve any back.

Islam is a world religion, It doesn't recognise geographical borders, Their aim is simply to convert all to their way of thinking (a bit like all the other religions really).
We are just infidels (nonbelievers). The problem with the religion isn't the teachings, its the way its interpreted and used to manipulate to populations (who live within the geographical borders). No different to other countries really 'God Bless America:D'.
Turn the argument on its head and see it from the other side, We aren't all that different after all (even if our skin colour is).

Even Phoney Toney uses it from time to time and the Queen (Anglican) is defender of the faith (Catholic) which Henry VIII was awarded by the Pope, before he destroyed the Catholic religion in this country.

Lets get this straight - my joke as posted DID NOT attack a religion at all. I was NOT around to see how the thread developed, it may have taken a turn I was not expecting, I did not keep any tab on it at all. BUT, if the reason it was deleted was because of my original joke then I am TOTALLY GOBSMACKED and VERY disappointed. As I said, I havent any idea if the thread went along an attacking route or not.

I think the protection of religion from non believers beliefs is absurd and the fact scoobynet seems to want to follow this policy is quite amazing. Is everyone in power on here from the god squad then or afraid scoobynet is next going to come under legal threat from religious organisations?

Religion practices conversion of non believers to its faith. So in that case it must be hypocritical in the extreme if it can not apparently stomach the opinions of non believers who tell people they don't believe in religion! :rolleyes:

There is nothing wrong in having beliefs, but to try and enforce them on other people and claiming its religion and u will be a bad person if you don't agree with us just says exactly what a bunch of w@nkers these people really are! :rolleyes:

If it was a straight forward attack upon a religion, in bad taste, than I would see 'some' reason for deletion - it wasnt, so why the deletion? still puzzles me? still not had a satisfactory answer either (not that I 'should' get one) its just courtesy?
