My backbox has developed a problem. I suspect a baffle has dislodged and it is now much noisier than before. If this is so (and I can't detect any leaks in the system) I was wondering if this might cause some sort of obstruction to the exhaust.
Then there is the question of what to do about it. By coincidence (or maybe not) last Friday a Honda nudged the rear bumper (enough to create a hole where it attaches to the body on the offside). I didn't think at first that it had hit the exhaust, but could this be the cause (I will tell my insurance company it did of course ;) ) So, which BBs are suitable for my car. Are they all basically the same? Sorry to ask such newbie questions, but I chose this car three years ago because I thought is didn't need any performance enhancing bits, so it's never been modded. Cheers. |
Any ideas where I can get an OE backbox from?

If you don't a mind second hand one stick an ad in the wanted section, there must be loads collecting dust in garages nationwide :)
The OE sti BB flows the same as an OE UK BB so as long as you don't mind the looks you could get a UK one. Justin |
XRS, I have an OE UK Backbox twin pea shooter which you can have FOC if it's any good to you?

Too kind Sir! :D
It might come in useful if the garage takes too long organising a replacement. Does anyone know if it will fit, and what effect (if any) it would have on performance? |
