Is there a recommended boost level using a dawes that i can safely go to without needing a remap ect?+what should the std pressure be on a uk 98?

Every car is different, and a lot depends on what is already done to the car (induction/de-cat etc). There is not rule for x-psi being safe really. Plus i don't really like the idea of taking boost control away from the ECU. Your best bet is to get an Air Fuel guage and a knock link to make sure fueling is ok before any tinkering is undertaken. My UK97 is running around 17.5 / 18psi held in 5th (till around 5,800rpm - then tails off), with a full de-cat, induction, ported exhaust manifold & uppipe, ported throttle body, custom FCD and uprated fuel pump, but i keep a close eye on everything and tend not to rev above 6,000 anyway. I wouldn't mind an answer to this question, I've got a dawes coming, I've just fitted a boost gauge, to my my00 full decat, I'm getting a max of about 0.9bar, is that about right? and what can I 'safely' run when the dawes arrives?
