As title, a Sti V5 Type-r Coupe, 1998 model.
When in fifth, all is fine, except when backing off the throttle, it sometimes pops out of gear. I have heard that it is due to a nut in the gearbox not being correctly torqued up at the factory? Could anyone give me details of exactly which nut it is, what size the nut is (to make sure ive got a socket!), and the correct torque setting please? I have rebuilt a uk box before, but this sti box has the electronically adjustable centre diff, is there anything i should be aware of with this diff when opening the box? Thanks Ian :) |
Nut on the end of 5th gear, its only peened to lock, suggest you get it sorted pdq, if it comes off you could wreck the box.
